How to Pack like a Pro?

How to pack like a pro: My best light packing tips

Why solo travellers should pack light?

Before we get into some professional minimalist packing techniques, let's go through the main reasons why solitary travellers should pack small in the first place.
  • Manoeuvrability: A light backpack allows you to move around more effortlessly, making your vacation more enjoyable (believe me - I speak from experience).
  • Overweight luggage fees: Since they just had to bring an additional pair of trousers, light packers are considerably less likely to be charged overweight baggage costs.
  • Simple access: The fewer items you have in your bag, the easier it is to find what you need. Your hostel roommates will appreciate the fact that you won't have to dig through your suitcase for your travel adaptor at 2 a.m.
  • Health: Packing light not only makes it simpler to move about, but it's also lot better for your body. Your back, feet, and shoulders will thank you later.
  • Carry-on only travel: Once you've perfected the art of packing light, you may begin to travel carry-on only, which means you won't have to pay for checked luggage.

Minimalist packing tips for solo travellers

Here are my best ways of packing while travelling solo:
  • Use a tiny suitcase: A smaller luggage forces you to pack less junk. Begin by selecting a bag and setting out everything that needs to go inside. Everything that does not fit in the bag, i.e. everything non-essential, remains at home;
  • Make a plan: Knowing what you'll be doing on your trip before you go makes it much easier to coordinate your luggage and attire.
  • Don't bring anything just in case: Examine each thing you placed next to your bag or backpack and ask yourself if you'll need it at your destination. If the response is no, do not accept it.
  • Wear bulky goods on travel days: One technique to lighten your luggage is to wear your bulkiest items on travel days so you don't have to stuff them into your baggage.
  • Make use of travel-sized toiletries: Aside from the weight and volume of full-sized toiletries, you will not be permitted to bring them in your carry-on luggage. Bring travel-size toiletries or even solid alternatives from brands like Bath and body works or Clinque.
  • Roll your clothes: Rolling your clothes is the greatest technique to avoid wrinkles. Yes, indeed. You'll also save room in your backpack.
  • Use a packing list: A packing list for solo travel can help you pack what you need and take the worry out of packing.
  • Make sensible outfit choices: Wear one pair of shoes when travelling and have another pair in your bag or backpack. Wear apparel that is long-lasting, lightweight, and comfy.
  • Rolling Up: Rolling up your underwear around your socks and shoving such bundles into your shoes or any other gaps in your suitcase (e.g., trouser pockets or inside your shirts) might save you more room than you think.
  • Technology has advanced to the point that our smartphones can function as a music player, camera, podcast library, newspaper, weather forecaster, contact directory, and payment card all at the same time. Use this to your advantage.
